In an ideal world, we have enough time to make healthy meals and snacks every day.  But when life gets hectic and we are forced to turn to Plan B, store bought food bars are usually an easy option that taste good.  Unfortunately, most of these bars are unhealthy options that will put on weight and cause sugar cravings.

There are so many food bar options and brands out there.  Lucky for you, we’ve done all the research and have picked out the top 7 healthiest bars. We’ve explored the internet and visited Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Shoprite, Fresh Market, Starbucks, and a few more locations…here are our top picks.  Note:  In general, we are looking at quality of ingredients, sugar, protein, and balance.  For more details, check out our health food bar grading criteria.

Sold almost anywhere
Pros: They contain natural ingredients, moderately priced
Cons: Some of the flavors are low in protein (just 3 grams) and some are high in sugar, so read Nutrition Facts.

  • Organic Food Bar

Sold at Trader Joes, Whole Foods, and Lazy Acres
Pros: It contains wholesome ingredients and they also carry a raw bar with lots of sprouted ingredients. Most of their bars contain 1-2 oz of natural protein.
Cons: Too much sugar (around 20 grams).
