My brand new computer is not working today.  F*#%CK  😤
After spending all this time and energy getting it dialed in, I am super freaking frustrated!

💥I want to throw my computer out the window
💥Scream a million curse words
💥 Punch something

Right now, my blood boiling, my breath is shallow, and my jaw is tight (a.k.a. stress hormones are activated).🤯

So, you may be wondering why I’m writing about computer problems when I’m supposed to be helping you heal your metabolism.  Well, it has a lot more to do with your metabolism than you think.

You see… We all deal with FRUSTRATING things and feelings on a daily basis, right?

👉🏻 Annoying people

👉🏻 Traffic

👉🏻 Work deadlines

👉🏻 Kids that don’t listen (I could go on and on): Like dirty socks EVERYWHERE, Lights never turned off, Toilet paper always empty, and dishes never cleaned properly.  I know some of you mamas can relate 😜

If you are a logical brain, there’s a clear physiological link (how stress = weight gain). When we are frustrated or overwhelmed or anxious, our stress hormones are activated.  When cortisol is elevated, this causes inflammation in the body, slows the metabolism, and the bottom line is that it’s impossible to lose weight.

STRESS  =>  HIGH CORTISOL =>  INFLAMMATION =>  SLOW METABOLISM => WEIGHT GAIN

Here’s the part that most people don’t think about.  There’s also a huge emotional link (how stress = weight gain). When we are feeling stressed, we make different decisions. I am sure you heard of the term “stress eating” or “emotional eating”.  This is real because stress hormones amplify cravings and short circuit logical thinking. All the discipline and willpower cannot overtake stress hormones on a regular basis.
So, when we are stressed/overwhelmed…

🤦‍♀️ It’s hard to think clearly and see the big picture.

🤦‍♀️ It’s hard to live in the moment and enjoy life.

🤦‍♀️ We tend to make quick decisions (that usually don’t align with our core values).
