3-Prong Approach to stay sane and healthy this holiday ๐Ÿ’

It’s so common to see women overwhelm themselves during the holiday season and get off track with their health. ๐Ÿ“ˆ

We want to make everyone happy and make the holidays joyous for all, but we sabotage our metabolism in the meantime. ๐ŸŽ„

When we put extra pressure on ourselves and our to-do list is overflowing, we have no time for ourselves and it hurts our physical and emotional wellbeing and wrecks our healthy mojo. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

  • More specifically, it ramps up stress hormones which leads to fatigue, inflammation, moodiness, and burn-out. ๐Ÿ˜ซ
  • And you are not going to like this one… It always leads to weight gain.

My holiday season is pretty busy and I can feel the unhealthy mojo ๐Ÿ˜’
Don’t get me wrong, it’s mostly wonderful things and I am so grateful, but it’s still a struggle.

For instance, I enjoy holiday decorating and buying special gifts for family and friends but when that is mixed with a busy work schedule, travel to NJ, sickness in the house with kids home from school, computer dramas (this one drained me), sports obligations, and the daily grind (cook/clean/repeat), I can feel the stress hormones ramping up. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

So how do we stay sane and healthy this holiday season?
Better yet, how do we fully enjoy it and feel at peace?
โ˜ฎ

Here’s my 3-prong approach to simplify your holiday season for more peace and joy and less stress hormones.

  1. Ask yourself… What is my main goal of the holidays? (Is it quality family time?  Is your main purpose to celebrate Jesus?   Or is your goal to spoil your kids/grandkids with gifts?)  Once you know your main goal or purpose, it’s easier to make smart decisions instead of overextending yourself in 50 directions.
  2. Next, write down a list of all your main holiday tasks (ex – decorating, gift buying list, get a tree, Christmas cards, family pictures, dinner plans, parties, travel plans).
  3. Now, look at your list and notice if it aligns with your main goal (purpose).  Is there anything on this list that can be eliminated or simplified or delegated.

If you are the type of person who struggles with making your health a priority.
If you find yourself saying:

“I have to”...go to this party.
“I should”… send out Christmas cards now.
“People expect me to”… buy lots of gifts.

If you talk this language and struggle with your health, then you may need some help.ย ๐Ÿ†˜๐Ÿ†˜๐Ÿ†˜
