When I joined Sunshine Wellness, I had a few health issues. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the worst, my food cravings, my gastrointestinal health, and my joint pain were ALL at a 10. Two weeks into the program, I saw improvement. By the end of the program, my food cravings, joint pain, and gastrointestinal health were at 1 (they were gone)! Amazing results! So, how did we help get Beth’s joint pain from a level 10 to level 1?!?   Here is our 2-part strategy to reduce pain and inflammation:

👉🏻 Eliminate foods that are potentially inflammatory. I used to do food allergy testing but to be honest, there are so many different tests and the results are not always accurate.  I found that these confusing tests can send you down a rabbit hole of extreme diet changes and feelings of overwhelm (that are not needed). Through my experience, I know the key inflammatory foods BUT since everyone is different, we experiment with one food at a time.  For Beth, we found gluten was the biggest inflammatory trigger. Want to know the best part?… Through this exploratory journey, Beth became in tune with her body.  She figured out which foods directly affect her pain and now, Beth has clarity and confidence moving forward with her nutrition.

👉🏻 Minimize habits that spike cortisol. When your cortisol is constantly elevated, it activates inflammation and exacerbates pain.  Cortisol can be on overdrive due to tons of factors.  I worked with Beth closely to identify the daily patterns that were activating cortisol and causing pain.

👉🏻 For Beth, her life was filled with extremes (lots of travel, work stress, skipping meals, eating out, too many Twizzlers, and feeling hopeless). Once we established a realistic routine that felt more balanced, Beth felt in control of her cravings, her daily habits, and her health.  Her cortisol levels calmed down and she was able to heal so much faster.

For the sake of this article, we focused on Beth’s pain levels.  But in just three months, she also reduced her GI (bloat) and cravings from a level 10 to a 1 as well!  Beth never weighed herself, but she did monitor body measurements and she lost over 10 inches, mostly in her waist. 🎉🎉🎉
