I am absolutely thrilled to share a captivating conversation I recently had on the “Moving Mattresses In Three Inch Heels” podcast, hosted by Julia Jordan. Together, we dove deep into metabolic health and the pivotal role our adrenals play (how they can make or break your metabolism).

Now, let’s talk about why understanding the adrenals is paramount to achieving your health goals, especially for women.

In today’s fast-paced world, our adrenals are constantly under siege, pushed to their limits by the non-stop demands of modern life. Their main hormone, cortisol, is meant to keep us alive, but for most women, it’s on overdrive, fueled by the pressures of dieting, busyness, and complex hormonal systems. Society ignites this hormone, demanding we work out harder, eat less, skip meals or carbs—our body’s primary fuel source. We’re expected to juggle it all (keep the family organized, cook, clean and work, while keeping a positive attitude and looking good), all while feeling the weight of overwhelm pressing on our adrenals every single day.

Even for those always striving to be healthy and shed unwanted weight, the task is impossible with elevated cortisol levels. Instead, the body succumbs to inflammation, unbalanced hormones, annoying cravings, and constant weight struggles.

This is why our focus primarily lies with women around the challenging years of menopause. These women often battle fatigued adrenals and sluggish metabolisms, leaving them no choice but to prioritize healing their metabolism first to see any semblance of progress. The struggle is real, and it’s time we acknowledge the pivotal role of our adrenals in the intricate dance of metabolism and overall well-being.

Sorry to be a bit dramatic but I am truly talking from my heart and I hope it is hitting home for you.  And most importantly, I want you to know – there is hope.
