Busy women who feel like they have no extra time for their health, listen up

When someone tells me that they have no extra time to dedicate to self care, yet they feel overwhelmed and their health is going downhill, my heart goes out to them.💗

It sucks feeling stuck and misaligned with your body and your health.

I know this because I lived this frustrating cycle. Even though I had the right nutrition and exercise knowledge (as a nutritionist & trainer), I still struggled.

My schedule was full with kids, daycare, family obligations, cooking, cleaning, laundry and of course, all the duties that go along with building a business from scratch.

On the outside, I always put on a happy face😀 but inside, I felt overwhelmed😔.

When someone talked about their amazing life, I would say to myself “must be nice”. When my husband scheduled an afternoon of golf, I would say “must be nice”.
Along with my frustration, I also struggled with my health during this time in my life.  
To cope with stress, I drank too much and my sweet cravings were rough.  Even though my nutrition was pretty good, I still wrestled with bloat🎈, constipation💩, sleep issues💤, brain fog💨 and moodiness😒.

I now know exactly why I struggled during this time in my life. I was too busy.  I overextended myself and did not ask for help.  I was a perfectionist (still am a bit).  I had BIG goals for the future but stopped enjoying the present moment.

So how did I stop this frustrating cycle and find more life balance?

When you look from the outside, my life isn’t much different now.  In fact, my life might be busier.  I now have 3 kids.  And my business has flourished with more clients and a team to manage.

3 Keys Concepts that helped me transition from a world of overwhelm to a healthy, happy life that I fully enjoy.

👉🏻 Shift in mindset. Instead of focusing on wanting more and always planning ahead, I started to focus on gratitude.  This did not happen overnight!  I started with the Law of Attraction (The Secret book) but gratitude has been introduced to me in other ways too, like mentors, journaling, podcasts, and meditations.

👉🏻 Make time for myself daily. My priorities have changed and I schedule in time for me everyday.  Through the years, I have figured out which tasks and goals are truly the most important and now, these are non-negotiable commitments that I look forward to:

🔴 Weekly menu planning

🔴 Morning meditation with intention for my day

🔴 Mini work breaks to stretch and clear the mind

🔴 Activity outside (be in nature)

🔴 Electronics off and going to bed at a decent hour

🔴 1-2 inspiring podcast/wk

👉🏻 Let go.  For me, I released the need to please everyone.  I let go of these grand goals that moved me away from happiness.  I dropped the tasks and appointments that did not truly impact my life.  I distanced myself from negative people and negative vibes. Now, my schedule is busy but I am excited about it. My kids and hubby help with all the household chores.  We feel like a team (most of the time). And I pay for help with the things that I don’t enjoy, like cleaning and bookkeeping.

Everyone’s journey is different but if you truly want to move away from feeling overwhelmed and stuck with your health, then I want you to know that it is possible and you are worth it!
