Healthy Turkey Burgers

Turkey burgers are a leaner alternative to red meat. This simple recipe adds some extra veggies which helps keep it moist.

Healthy Turkey Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 pounds ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons panko or GF bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons finely diced onion
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup zucchini or yellow squash, shredded
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon of dijon mustard
  • 1/2 clove garlic, peeled and minced
  • Seasonings: 1/2 teaspoon salt and other spices as desired, like pepper, parsley and Italian seasoning

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients. Form into 6-10 medium/large patties .
  2. Cook the patties on a medium skillet over medium heat until cooked though (no pink juices).

Servings: 6-10
