Healthy Turkey Burgers
Turkey burgers are a leaner alternative to red meat. This simple recipe adds some extra veggies which helps keep it moist.
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 pounds ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons panko or GF bread crumbs
- 3 tablespoons finely diced onion
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup zucchini or yellow squash, shredded
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon of dijon mustard
- 1/2 clove garlic, peeled and minced
- Seasonings: 1/2 teaspoon salt and other spices as desired, like pepper, parsley and Italian seasoning
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients. Form into 6-10 medium/large patties .
- Cook the patties on a medium skillet over medium heat until cooked though (no pink juices).
Servings: 6-10
