If you weigh yourself frequently, you are probably questioning why your weight fluctuates so much.

How can you gain 2 pounds overnight, right?!? 😲

If this is you, I am guessing that your emotions are all over the place with the scale.   One day, your weight is down.  You are happy and have a little extra pep in your step.  “All this hard work is paying off.”   The next day, the scale shows a two-pound weight gain.  You are frustrated and confused how this happened. “WTF!  This is not worth it.” 🤬  

I am here to tell you that this weighing game is not worth it! 💯

AND it will only lead to an unhealthy cycle (physically and emotionally) filled with more stress and weight gain. 🔁

Let’s get some clarity about these weight fluctuations. Quick weight gain is not fat gain! You’d have to consume an enormous amount of food to pack on two pounds overnight. Quick weight gain is usually water retention. 

Here are some common reasons:

🔴 Too many carbs, especially processed carbs.  This causes glycogen storage, which stores lots of water too.

🔴 Too much salty food (processed foods). Consuming foods that are inflammatory causing bloat and inflammation in your GI tract.

🔴 Too much stress.  When stress hormones are activated, you will retain more water. And women retain more water during their menstrual cycle.

Now that you know the real deal, let’s stop thinking small (monitoring calories and the scale).

Instead, you need to think BIG.  The big picture is to heal your metabolism with your daily healthy habits, your positive mindset, and balanced living.  As you optimize your metabolism, you will naturally lose weight, revive your energy, gain control of cravings, and find your healthy mojo. 🙏🏽
