How to Rid the Body of Toxins- DetoxFrom the minute that we are brought into this world we are exposed to more toxins than you could fathom. Our air and water supply are polluted, which effect the foods we eat daily. Most cleaning agents and plastics around the house are toxic to our bodies. Those silver fillings in your mouth contain mercury , which is also very toxic. The consequences of these numerous toxins may include chronic fatigue, memory loss, skin disorders, arthritis, hormone imbalances, anxiety, emotional disorders, cancers, and heart disease.

What can we do to detoxify our body?

  1. Drink lots of filtered water! Your tap water may be contaminated with bacteria and parasites, chemicals, and harmful minerals. Make sure to utilize a good filter and drink at least 8 cups of water a day.
  2. Eat real, whole foods that are organic. Pesticide exposure represents a major problem because it can be stored in our fatty tissue. Pesticides and herbicides are sprayed on our food crops and are used in animal feed for our meat supply. Buy organic produce and meats grown without pesticides. Most processed foods contain genetically modified ingredients, such as soy, as well as toxic chemicals, and hormones. In fact, 80% of our food supply is genetically modified. Please buy real food without all the preservatives. Make sure to eat wild fish, like wild Pacific or Alaskan Salmon instead of farm-raised salmon due to the heavy load of antibiotics. Also avoid the fish with high mercury content, like shark, swordfish and tuna(Bluefin and Yellowfin).
  3. Avoid analgam (silver) fillings-they are dangerous. A typical filling contains 250,000 mcg of mercury and releases 10 mcg into our system every day . Be sure to talk to your dentist about all your options.
  4. Alkalinize your body. First, test your morning urine pH-it is a good indicator of the pH of your tissues. Aim for a level of 6.5-7.5pH. If your pH is below 6.5, your body is too acidic. This means your tissues and liver are having a tough time detoxifying your body. An alkalinizing diet is rich in fresh organic fruits and vegetables.
  5. Exercise regularly. Regular exercise helps the lymphatic system remove cellular waste. Exercise also increases perspiration and causes the release of additional toxins.
